Electoral College is a body of electors who represent the people's vote in choosing the president.

One of the first things that Washington did as president was create precedents, precedents are actions or decisions that later serves as an example. Congress created departments for each of the different parts of the executive branch.

the neutrality proclamation was a document that stated that the US would not take sides in the french revolution. Washington issued the proclamation without the consent of congress, causing a disagreement among some members of congress.

These two treaties settled different disputes with Great Britain and Spain. Jays treaty Resolved the issue of Britain's ships taking control of american merchant ships. Pinckney's treaty deciphered the borders and the trade disputes with the spanish minister Manuel de Godoy.

The year 1796 wasington realized that he was tired of the public life and no longer wanted to be president. Washington adressed what he thought was the biggest dangers for the country. Washington beleived that perminent ties with other countries could pull the US into war. He also warned against growing political parties and too much public debate.
